Miss Jackie Byatt, a 16 year old Fulham girl, got to know Hoverton Marquis Barrington, a dairy shorthorn steer, to be on show at the Smithfield Show at Earls Court to-morrow. She will help to groom the animal for the judging. (see story) He's just up from the country, too ALTHOUGH he's an aristocrat born and bred, Hoveton Marquis Barrington is a country boy at heart. Quite worried he was, with all the palaver they made about this going up to London business. But, as you can see from the picture, everything is all right, now he's got to know Jackie Byatt. Why, she even calls him George, just like they do down on the farm. And George has got a message for his brother bullocks at Wroxham, Norfolk. These Londoners are middlin' fair folk, he says.... Not stand-offish either, as you can see. Real friendly, our Jackie. A 16-year-old Fulham school-girl, Jackie met George at Earls Court, where the Smithfield Show opens today. Now she's helping Mr. T. R.C. Blofeld's herdsman to get him ready for the judges. Said Jackie: "I love animals - especially horses." George let out a jealous bellow, so Jackie added: "And George best of all, of course."
