The R. Bliss Manufacturing Co. of New York made high quality board games in the late 19th century. "Babes in the Wood," a board game patterned after the famous fairy tale, is one example. The box itself is partly made of wood, covered with decorative paper. The tale of "Babes in the Wood" is largely forgotten now. Not a happy story, it concerns two orphans who are left in the woods to perish.
