About the craft: Akas inhabit the south eastern part of West Kameng and western part of East Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh, with majority residing in West Kameng. The Aka villages are mostly located on the hill tops and plains of the river valleys as their lifestyle is based on the forest and river resources. Bana, Yangsey, Kaya valley are some of the villages of east and west Kameng districts where the Akas live. Their habitats are surrounded by mountains, and forests. The Kameng river along with its tributaries cut through the terrain.
