Shane/Terry Fitzgerald twin fin top view

After seeing stubby twin fin designs in an American magazine Terry Fitzgerald entered the Shane surfboard factory in Sydney and didn't leave until he had one of these radical new boards to ride. In 24 hours Fitzgerald produced the first of this type of board in Australia. This is the second one he made. A famous Surfing World Magazine cover features a wild haired Fitzgerald and Mark Warren showing off their new twin fin designs. At this point these boards didn't have a huge impact but 7 years later Mark Richards would update the twin fin design amd revolutionise surfing.
