Shari F. Shink established the Children’s Legal Clinic in 1985. The program soon emerged as the Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center, the first non-profit law firm for abused and neglected children.

Shink’s work to prevent violence against children has led to innovative legislation and programs, including the Child Protection Ombudsman, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, the Prevention Partnership Program that keeps children out of foster care, and Dandelion, a therapeutic gardening program The Rocky Mountain Children’s Law Center has transformed the lives of over 15,000 children.
