Shawl with Floral Design

This textile was produced in the Bengal region of India, where it is locally referred to as jamdani. This piece features a floral pattern woven atop a translucent beige base using a weaving process that transects through the weft, along with decorative green and gray floral trim arranged in an orderly pattern. The entire piece was created with impeccable workmanship, featuring exquisitely elegant colors. The piece was used by local aristocrats.
