Sheet of Gummed Elphick's Labels

A letter from label manufacturers with 38 gummed labels used by Elphick's Nursery to seal seed packets adhered. From 1964 onwards Elphick's used rubber stamp. Elphick's of Lewes was primarily a seed business. The firm was founded in 1823 by George Elphick and was based at 18 Cliffe High Street in Lewes, Sussex, later expanding to three branches, but closing in 2003.
