This is a piece of furniture composed of poles and layer boards, where either each layer is open or one or two layers constitute a chest. Used for keeping stationery, books, or light vases on, this piece of furniture is designed in a minimalist style without ornate decorations, representing a simple and reserved ambience of a guestroom, along with a stationery chest. In particular, this shelf has an excellent sense of shape and proportion. The entire surface of this square shelf is decorated with bamboo ribs, except the underside of each multi-layered board, which are lacquered after rattan frames are attached onto it. A triangular support is attached to the four sides of the bottom legs to reinforce the structure on top.
