Top edge and exterior surface show some striations from smoothing and shaping, areas where upper portion of shell was removed also appear slightly polished. Underside of bracelet shows some polish and slight enhancement of the natural shell form. Beak or umbo of shell left mostly intact. This bracelet was recovered from a late Classic period structure fragment that was heavily disturbed by historic activities, located in a habitation area at the site of Pueblo Grande. Pueblo Grande was a large village located at the headgates of a major canal system. Occupied as early as AD 500, the site reached its greatest extent during the Classic Period.
