Small, round disk manufactured from a Glycemeris shell. Half of the disk contains v-shaped incisions along the upper-half of the margin; edge appears to have been ground smooth before cutting. Non-incised edge is ground smooth with tiny striations from working and slight polish. This disk was recovered from a pit located in a habitation area at the site of Pueblo Grande; this area contains both pithouse and compound room architecture. Pueblo Grande was a large village located at the headgates of a major canal system. Occupied as early as AD 500, the site reached its greatest extent during the Classic Period. Museum Accession: 1996.17
