Bitchang, or shucker, is a tool designed to help female divers pry abalone from rocks. This skewer-like tool had a sharp tip at one end and a loop at the other end. The loop was used for tying a string, which the diver wound around her wrist to keep it secure. It is 30 cm long with an appropriate thickness for gripping and picking abalone underwater.
