The simplified design seen here depicts flowers and birds made with Shibayama inlay to allure to Shōshō-in treasures. The blue and peach-colored feathers are made from abalone shell, while the leaves are made using dyed ivory. Dyed ivory is a technique that linked to the bachiru ivory carving technique found in Shōshō-in treasures.
