Fragment of a large marble statue corresponding to a shield decorated with a Gorgon’s head in the centre and depictions in bas relief of Helios and Selene on their chariots accompanied by diverse secondary figures such as Phosphorous, Hesperus and Oceanus. Preserved at the back are the hand and forearm of a larger than life-size masculine figure that probably depicted a gladiator. Found in the “frigidarium” (cool room) of the lower baths at the Roman villa of Els Munts (Altafulla) near Tarraco.
