A pointed oval shield painted white, yellow, black and red. It has a tooth-shaped designs in front and a wooden handle secured with leather straps. It was made by a craftsman and used by strong men (kaplechi) to fight enemies. The buffalo skin used was obtained from the best hunters and the wood from kuroat tree. The skin is fitted over a wood frame and laced tightly with leather strips. In the past paint was made of smoke and wild animal blood.
