Shirt

This bandana print shirt belonged to Margaret Sandburg, the Sandburgs' oldest daughter. She was 34 years old when her family moved to Flat Rock, North Carolina. Margaret enjoyed the benefits of farm life surrounded by fresh air, farm animals and nature. However, she preferred scholarship over farm work. She was very well-read and, like her father, often poured over books until late in the night.
