Made of mixed material (cotton and hemp fabric). Consists of front and back panels (with no seams at the shoulders). A large gussett, rebrnja, reaches to the armpit on each side and a small gussett, klinčić, at the bottom. Each sleeve made of one and one quarter of cloth, gathered at the bottom into a narrow cuff. Above the cuff, the width of the sleeve gathered into three pleats. A narrow (12 mm) collar, ogrljak, also called “Vlach collar”, filled with embroidery of black, brown and dark blue wool. Stylized floral patterns of black, brown and dark blue wool embroidered along and under the neckline.Wool of the same color used to decorate the cuffs with patterns comprising a series of interconnected hexagons with geometrized flowers in the center. The upper part of the shirt lined with hemp fabric. Worn with cloth trousers, a woven sash and a fur-lined vest called grudnjak. Made in 1935 by Savka Nikolić for her bridegroom. Such shirts were worn in Soko Banja villages until World War II. Home handwork. The fabric was woven using two heddles. Cotton thread is the warp and hemp thread the weft. Embroidered using the so-called “Vlach” cross-stitch technique, stitch over stitch, to produce denser embroidery. Handmade. Length: 91 cm; hemline circumference: 149 cm; length of sleeve 53 cm.
