Shiva as Ascetic

The ascetic Shiva, one of the pillars of the the Great Trinity in Hinduism, is a god of destrucion and creation, and within his violent personality, he harbors a benevolent side as well. In southern India, there are a great many small shrines dedicated to Shiva. As the most earthly and indiginous god among the Great Trinity, he was treated with fondness by Akino.
