Show "Elas por Elas"

Women's protagonism took center stage at the Teatro Castro Alves on March 13 and 14, 2014. A show directed, designed, costumed, lit, and curated entirely by women. This was the concept behind “Elas por Elas” (Women for Women), a project organized by the Department of Culture of the State of Bahia in partnership with the Secretariat for Women’s Policies, highlighting the cultural impact that has emerged from women’s historic struggle, showcased through an all-female production across various fields of artistic expression.

With musical direction by Andréa Daltro and general direction by Hebe Alves, the repertoire of the show “Elas por Elas” explored the feminine universe through the voices of Rosa Passos, Jussara Silveira, Marcia Castro, Inaicyra Falcão, Juliana Ribeiro, and Rebeca Matta. The production featured set design by Renata Mota, costumes by Márcia Ganem, and lighting by Irma Vidal. The evening opened with a performance by the Dance School of the Cultural Foundation of the State of Bahia, and also included the Luana Serrat Circus Company and projections by Karina Rabinovtz and Silvana Resende.
