Shrinathji Swaroop

A pichwai depicting Shrinathji Swaroop, with the central image of Krishna as Shrinathji draped in yellow and gold flared kachhani, his torso richly adorned with garlands and necklaces, and holding a bunch of lotus stalks – all set against a trellis patterned white background and a yellow, orange border. Placed in front of the deity are a banta (snack box), paan-bida (pair of folded betel leaves) and jhari (water jug), filled with water from the Yamuna, the images abraded over time. The panel is now partially backed with a plain cotton fabric.

Shrinathji is the tutelary deity of the Vallabhacharya sect. The image replicates the stone statue of Shrinathji at the central sanctorum of the Nathdwara temple.
