"Si no me dan Libertad, JODO! Resistencia y Luto; If they the United States of America does not give me Liberty, I'm going to make them (the government miserable) This portrait I created was right around the time of the Puerto Rican day Parade. Being half Puerto Rican and half Cuban I have always had my identity challenged. This multimedia peice utilizing the Black and White Puerto Rican flag expresses my desire for the people of Puerto Rico to no longer be a colony of the United States.

If I am not Free, I will continue to protest and make your life Miserable!Resistance and morning for the Island of Puerto Rico.

Puerto Rico's status is a very touchy subject, for the native people on the island and for Puerto Rican's living in the states. I stand with the people of Puerto Rico in wanting economic independence and a government that is going to lift its people up. This work was also inspired by a drawing I did of Emily Moreno aka DJ Acrylica she posed for me at Yonkers Museum of Art. Our families both hail from Puerto Rico and she represents the younger generation that just won't take it anymore. Palante Siempre!
