Thai motif printed shift dress
1960
Thailand
By “Siam Designs”
This simple, sleeveless shift dress is made from polished cotton and has a traditional Thai printed motif, hand stitched quilting at the collar and hem, a metal zipper up the back and decorative/functional frog and loop closures at the neck.
The quilting has been done using the outer dress fabric backed by a bleached plain cotton fabric. A padded filler made of synthetic mesh adds depth and structure to the quilted areas.
Percale cotton is made from both carded and combed yarns.
