The “Meisterin” (championess) was Siemag’s top-of-the-line model and was equipped with all of the refinements to make fast and effortless typing possible. The type was deep black and sharp, making documents suitable for reproduction. The Siemag “Meisterin” cost DM 760 when introduced, equivalent to a quarter of the price of a VW Beetle. In 1961, Sigrid Wissel, a secretary, became the German champion in typewriting using this typewriter. Compared with the standard model, this machine was made of higher-quality materials to be able to withstand the strain of 10 keystrokes per second.
