Along with the opening of the Theatre, September 1997 also marked the birth of our restaurant “Maestro” as one of Japan’s few authentic theatre dining experiences. Patrons are met at the restaurant’s entrance with signed photographs of the many conductors, opera singers, ballet dancers, and other performers who have graced the stages of the New National Theatre over the years. In a calm atmosphere, diners are invited to enjoy a variety of dishes prepared by our chefs as they relish their sense of anticipation before a performance, of exaltation during the intermission, or of resonance after the show.
