Silence

The idea of the work is to restore the rhythm of passing time to the empty space, not with the precision of a doctor’s wristwatch, but that inexact rhythm of waiting; the silence of passivity. In one of the Matarazzo Hospital’s corridors she installed a clock hand sped up to three full rotations a minute. Letters forming the word silence substitute the numbers, altering the perception of passing time
