War Museum
Athina, Greece

Square-shaped silver amulet, an impressive example of micro art. On its front, engraved Saints are depicted, whose names are found above their halos, written in the Cyrillic alphabet. From the left, Saint Sergius of Radonezh is represented, with Basil of Mangazeya at his feet, followed by Saints Cyril, Antipas, Nicholas and John the Baptist, who is holding a scroll with the inscription “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world”. The figures show excellent detail in both the rendering of facial expressions and the folds of clothing.
