This elegant, stylish vehicle is the product of an innovative partnership between an English automobile manufacturer and American production facilities. In 1919 Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Limited, even then known for the luxury automobiles it produced, collaborated in the formation of an American subsidiary to produce limited quantities of its products in Springfield, Massachusetts. The first of these vehicles was the traditional Silver Ghost; in 1926 the Phantom was added to the product line at the Springfield plant. The high qualities of craftsmanship and design gave these vehicles a patina of exclusivity that characterizes the brand to this day.
