Each central surface of the front and back of this silver teapot is engraved with an imaginary three-legged black bird on the sun, and the moon rabbit pounding the ingredients for rice cake. This teapot is recorded as a silver-plated ewer in the Royal Protocol for Court Banquetsand Royal Protocol for Court Rites, both of which are Royal protocol guides for court banquets held between the 18th and 19th centuries.
