Round silver tray with elaborate rim and the coat of arms, or seal, of Peru in the center. Inscribed on the bottom: "Para la Sra. / ELEANOR ROOSEVELT / Gran Amiga del Peru / En Recuerdo de Su Visita a Lima / Sinceramente / Ernesto Romero D. C. / 5 Noviembre 1952." Translation: "For Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, Great Friend of Peru, In Memory of her Visit to Lima, Sincerely, Ernesto Romero D.C., November 5, 1952." This sterling silver tray was given to Eleanor Roosevelt by Ernesto Romero of Lima, Peru, to commemorate her visit in November 1952. ER stopped in Peru on her way home from Chile.
