Hodo Sabrie is a photographer from Hargeisa, Somalia. Currently enrolled for a bachelor’s degree at Webster University Athens. Class of 2019 at the African Leadership Academy in South Africa. Hodo is passionate about photography, and especially about closing the gender gap in a patriarchal structured community through her images. Hodo uses photography as a tool for women empowerment in a society with a patriarchal structure, and how it influences their lives. Sine Cera is a collection of photographs that explore the gender roles within a society. And how certain expectations on women influence their lives. The images also focus on showing the strength, and the confidence that women can possess while exploring the theme of afro futurism.
