This is a representative Joseon dynasty government-compiled geographical book published during the reign of King Jungjong. Consisting of 55 fascicles in 25 volumes, it was completed in 1530 after Geographical Encyclopedia of Korea, which was compiled during the reign of King Seongjong, was revised three times by scholars Yi Sa-gyun (李思鈞), Yi Haeng (李荇), Yun Eun-bo (尹殷輔), Shin Gong-je (申公濟), Hong Eon-pil (洪彦弼), and others. This comprehensive book contains not only geographical aspects but also information about various aspects of local society such as politics, economy, history, administration, military, society, folklore, art, people.
