Reproduction photograph Bill O'Reilly and Sir Donald Bradman, Bradman Oval, September, 1976. They are seen here walking off the field after O'Reilly had bowled one last ball to Sir Donald. The ball went down the leg side. Sir Donald's attempted hook missed.
The match was held the day after a dinner hosted by Bowral Municipal Council where both O'Reilly & Bradman spoke about playing with and against one another as well as recollections of Bradman Oval (then Glebe Park). The match itself was between a Southern Highlands XI and a Jack Chegwyn XI (named after the veteran NSW selector) who played in teams which toured regional NSW from the late 1930s until the late 1970s. Player partricipants in the match included Doug Walters, John Benaud, Len Pascoe, Gary Gilmour.
