Except for the two small figures that give scale to this painting, it is strictly about architecture, including both detail and simplicity of design. Compared to the size of the figures, the doorway is enormous. Flowers on the balcony over the entrance and protruding off the top of the building coordinate with the reddish brown of the bricks. “This was a peaceful scene, simple and quiet,” said Eileen. “Fred was a master of
