The Skeleton Wagon is a very light weight four-wheeled vehicle used for trotting races. This is a typical example. The caned seat-bottom is mounted on a skeleton frame and has shallow iron rails around the backs and sides. The design of the skeleton wagon is a masterful reduction of elements to the most essential functioning parts. The high equirotal wheels and light construction reduces the amount of exertion required for a fast trotter to pull it. The spokes and felloes of the wheels are less than one-half inch. The vehicle is painted off-white with red pin-striping.
