Kirill Zdanevich was a Georgian modern graphic artist, theatre painter and one of the founders of Georgia-Russian Cubism-Futurism. Zdanevich was originally from Poland; he studied at the Petersburg Academy of Arts on the drawing and painting courses of I. Foguel and N. Sklifosovsky, also at the G. Gurdjieff Institute of Harmonious Development of Humanity. From 1917 he worked on Cubism-Futurism experiments in typography, illustrated books, and with L. Gudiashvili and others painted the artistic cafes of Tbilisi “Fantastic Barrelhouse” and “The boat of the Argonauts.” Kirill Zdanevich was also a stage and theatre costume designer at the Tbilisi, Leningrad and Moscow Theatres.
