Coplestone Warre Bampfylde shared his interest in architectural improvement with a wide circle of friends that included Henry Fownes Luttrell of Dunster Castle, Somerset, and Lord Arundell of Wardour Castle, Wiltshire, providing the latter with a design for a grand classical mansion (1777).
