Slaveholders (Bedford County, Va.) summoned for failure to provide impressed slaves during Civil War

In Bedford County Court September Term 1863 Ordered that the Sheriff of their County Summon to the first day of the next term of the Court all Slaveholders who shall fail to deliver their respective quotas of Slaves to him under the order of the Justices made under the recent requisition of the Governor for Slaves from their County, to Show Cause why they should not be severally [sic] fined for such failure.
