This banner is part of the museum's Community Banners project, 'Memories and Dreams'. It is symbolic of Slovenian immigrants' experiences in South Australia.

Dreams of a new start in Australia are symbolised by the sun and hopes for prosperity are represented by the wheat. This banner effectively links the optimism of life in a new country with the love for the Domovina or homeland, and the desire to hold on to Slovenian culture and traditions.
