Excellent but very small predator, the pygmy owl hunts birds, such as titmices, chaffinches and crossbills, which are as big as it! It is noisier than its nocturnal colleagues and hunts at dawn and before the sunset. It conserves, during the winter, its preys’ carcasses inside holes in the trees.
