Buson, also called busap or bulsutgarak, is a fire shovel used to stir charcoal fire in a brazier, to move embers, or to gather and tap ashes in order to make the embers inside the brazier last longer. It was usually made of iron or brass, and used along with fire tongs. The fire shovel shown here has a round, flat and broad blade connected to a long shaft. The end of the shaft was shaped like a knob for tying a string or made into a loop. Some fire shovels for transporting charcoals or ashes were carved out of a log.
