This is a mirror, which is an essential cosmetic tool used to examine one’s appearance through its reflection. Mirrors vary in size from small, portable ones to wall-mounted ones able to reflect the entire body. Mirror stands serve both as a mirror and as a container. The mirror shown here is a portable one, and used by alternatively pushing the upper plate as a cover and the lower plate in which the mirror is inserted. The upper and lower plates are connected using nails or strings. Most of these types of mirrors are round or rectangular in shape, yet some are designed in a bell shape or with a handle.
