Small Salt Plain jar with large gray fireclouds on the sides and base. Base shows wear and some areas of sides and base are eroded. Throat and neck show distinct wiping striations, a few areas of vertical scratching. Interior is smoothed with wiping marks at the inside of the neck and distinct anvil depressions from the shaping process during manufacture, on the upper part of the body. This jar was located in the floor of a structure in a habitation area of Pueblo Grande. Pueblo Grande was a large village site located at the headgates of a major canal system occupied as early as AD 500, reaching its greatest size during the Classic Period. Museum Accession: 1996.17
