Small volcanic crater near Pavonis Mons Released 14 November 2002

The small crater observed at the middle-right edge of this NASA Mars Odyssey image is very different from other similar looking impact craters located southeast of the Pavonis Mons volcano. This crater appears to be a volcanic crater at the summit of a small composite cone that shows evidence of repeated volcanic flows.
