Smooth-coated otters (Lutrogale perspicillata) are named for their smooth and sleek fur, an unusual trait for other otter species. The species inhabit areas where they have access to fresh water.This social animal hunts in groups throughout the day and night. Its diet consists mainly of fish, but they also eat reptiles, amphibians, crustaceans, insects, and small mammals.
