This project looks beyond physical notions of the collective, focusing instead on the vast volumes of exchange that occur on Social Network Services (SNS). The commercial facilities around Hongdae are sited off the main road, yet they are actively shared on social networks. People are encouraged to visit and share images, which are exchanged and consumed through social networks. This is a time when people consume the city through images and social media ‘density’, rather than through visiting major commercial streets. Through this exhibition, SAAI presents the way four buildings (Uhjjuhdah Shops@Mangwon, Uhjjuhdah Shops@Seogyo, Uhjjuhdah House, IANN Books) are represented on SNS, to reconsider the meaning of architecture in the digital age.
