Considered by critic Clement Meadmore “one of the 30 best seats of the 20th century”, Poltrona Mole combines robustness and comfort, an invitation to relaxation and a modern language. Her project meets a deliberate search, by the designer, for an effectively Brazilian language, a quality that led her to win first place at the International Furniture Competition in Cantù, Italy, in 1961. The piece is part of the MCB Collection, and is available for viewing at the long-term exhibition at the Museu da Casa Brasileira called ‘Remains of the Atlantic Forest & MCB Collection’.
