One night, near Mount Fuji, at the Minamoto Yoritomo camp, the Soga brothers carried out their revenge. This story has been adapted for the stage countless times. In the print, a kabuki actor, in his characteristic makeup, portrays the gallant Soga Gorō Tokimune. Katana in hand and without fear of death, he prepares to kill Kudō Saemon, his father's murderer. His brother died in the attempt, and he was condemned to death for his crime. Even so, his conduct was considered an example of loyalty and filial piety.
