One of the Rohingya refugee camps is being installed with street lights run by solar in Coxsbazar, Bangladesh. The Asian development Bank supported project has installed 50 solar microgrid systems, a 50-kilometer distribution line, and an electricity substation to provide power to the camps, leading to reduced damage to forest reserves and critical ecosystems. The influx of more than 700,000 people from Myanmar into neighboring Bangladesh in August 2017 created a humanitarian crisis.
