Jeonrip (戰笠) is an official hat of military officials in the Joseon Dynasty. It is also called jeonrip (笠) or morip, both of which literally mean a hat made of animal hair. The the hat has a round crown and a wide brim, while the crown resembles a bowl placed upside down. The decorations on the top differed according to the official rank of the wearer. Hats of high-ranking officials were adorned with peacock tails, feathers or other ornaments, and added with navy fabric on the inside rim. The hat string was made of cloudy amber beads. Hats with many ornaments were called anolrim beonggeoji, while those with few decorations worn by low-ranking officials were simply called beonggeoji or beongtegi.
