Solitary Andean Bears

Even though the picture suggests that Andean Bears live in families, they are actually solitary animals. They travel alone outside the breeding season and are rarely seen in numbers except for a mother and its youngs. However, at sites with abundant food, it is possible to observe many bears feeding closely together.
