Sarangi is a short-necked, bowed string instrument played by folk musicians across India. It is widely used in Rajasthani and Punjabi folk music. It is also used in Pakistan and Bangladesh. It has 3 melody strings made of gut, and 11-37 sympathetically vibrating metal strings.
